A return to normalcy is in the works for Southeastern Kansas, as cooler temperatures are predicted for most of the area. The National Weather Service in Wichita is predicting highs in the upper-80s, including 89 in Coffeyville and 87 in Chanute.
The NWS has predicted an increased chance for storms this weekend as well. There'll be just under a 30 percent chance of rain in Coffeyville, with some isolated strong to severe storms possible. In case of severe weather, make sure to tune in to 690 AM, KGGF, for wall-to-wall coverage.
