A man killed in a two-vehicle crash on US-59 was a candidate for the Neosho County Commission.

Christopher Ellis was the Republican nominee for the Neosho County Commission 2nd District, set to run against incumbent Democrat David Orr in November. KGGF originally reported the crash happened Sunday afternoon, when 79-year-old Barbara Clingen of Parsons crossed over into the northbound lane and hit a 2009 Harley-Davidson driven by Ellis.

Ellis was transported to Miami County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Clingan was taken to Labette Health with a suspected minor injury.
