Security at the Nowata County Sheriff's Office was the topic at the most recent county commission meeting. Sheriff Jason McClain says the sheriff’s office front door needs to be secured instead of being open to the public for entry.
Sheriff McClain says anyone wishing to enter the office would need to be buzzed in through an intercom after an initial screening. The estimated cost of the project is roughly $4,000 and would qualify for possible CARES Act reimbursement.
