The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced that the roundabout project at the intersection of U.S. 59 and U.S. 160 east of Altamont should be completed by December, weather permitting.

Originally, the project was to end this summer but due to the coronavirus, work was halted until just a few months back. The remaining items on the job include overhead lights, sign placement, and demolition of the temporary road around the project.

The $3.1 million project is being handled by LaForge and Budd Construction of Parsons and they have 115 working days to complete the roundabout.
