The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a project to repair a damaged pier at the Neosho River Bridge on K-39 east of Chanute.

The contractor will build a causeway to the pier and all work will take place underneath the bridge. K-39 traffic will not be affected.

KDOT awarded the construction contract of just over $38,000 to B & B Bridge Company, LLC, of St. Paul. The bridge repair is expected to be finished in two weeks, weather permitting.
