The Crawford County Sheriff's Office along with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation after the remains of a body were discovered in western Crawford County.
According to the Sheriff's Office, an individual was out for a walk in the area of K-126 and 80th Street when they discovered the remains. Deputies were sent to the area where it was confirmed that it was indeed human skeletal remains. The KBI was notified and requested to assist with the case. The cause of death and identity are unknown at this time.
The remains were transported to a forensics lab in Kansas City for examination.
