The 2020 Dalton Defender's Days Festival has been canceled. According to Board President Linda Frazier due to the inability to social distance during the re-enactment, it is recommended that they cancel the entire festival, since the re-enactment is the main reason for the event.

With the possibility of Governor Laura Kelly returning the state to Stage 2 of her reopening plan and for the festival to be completely planned and paid for would be a financial burden, since this festival is a donation only event. Frazier says this has been an extremely hard decision for the group as they enjoy honoring the fallen Defenders with this festival.
