15th District Senate Race too Close to Call

Seventy-eight votes separate the two candidates for the 15th District seat in the Kansas State Senate.  Incumbent Dan Goddard currently trails Challenger Virgil Peck, 49.6% to 50.4%. Peck says it is a good feeling to be in the lead, but he knows that can all change.

Senator Goddard says the voter turnout was better than the last election, so he appreciates everyone who came out to vote or voted by mail.

Peck saw his slim lead on election night grow slightly after advanced ballots that arrived today were counted.  There are still 74 provisional ballots left to be counted in Montgomery County alone, so this race is still up in the air.
