Kansas Secretary of State Projects Turnout For Primary Election

 

Kansas Secretary of State, Scott Schwab predicts voter turnout for tomorrow’s primary election at 27%.  Schwab says those figures are based on historical numbers, the number of tight races and the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Due to the pandemic mail-in ballots are expected to play a bigger role than usual in the election.  As of Friday 314,788 mail ballots have been sent to Kansas voters com pared to 51,211 for the 2018 election.  In addition, of the ballots already mailed out 159, 012 have already been returned compared to 26,917 in 2018.
