The Montgomery County Commission received a COVID-19 update and approved a few bids at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday.

Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson explained to the commission why the official number of COVID-19 cases Montgomery County numbers produced by his department often differ from KDHE numbers. Whitson said that his department produces numbers every day compared to the KDHE, which only shares numbers every other day. As of August 1st, the county has 152 positive cases and 41 active cases.

Also in attendance was Public Works Coordinator Jim Wright, who requested that the commission approve bids for the 2020 Paint Striping Program and a service bed for the new Ram truck for Special Bridge. The commission approved both.

As always, the commission will meet again next Monday in the lower level of the judicial center.
