USD 446 in Independence has reported that a participant in its voluntary summer weights and conditioning program has tested positive for COVID-19. Following the positive test, ten other participants were identified as "close contacts" and were told of the need to quarantine on Sunday. 

Superintendent Rusty Arnold announced in a Facebook post that all spaces and equipment utilized by the program have been deep cleaned and disinfected per the district's safety protocols. USD 446 is set to open its doors to students on August 19th.
