The Caney Police Department has responded to numerous dog calls recently, as dogs on the loose are an issue in the city. Caney PD asks that each citizen, who has a dog, make sure that the dogs are registered with the City Clerk's Office. By registering your dog with the City Clerk's Office it makes it easier to identify dog if it gets out. It is also much cheaper if the Police or Animal Control Officer can just call you to come get your dog, rather than placing it in the pound. A dog at large ticket is $133.50, plus a $30 dog pound fee.
