Work will begin soon on a section of U.S. 59 in Labette County.

The pavement reconstruction project will take place over 0.3 miles, from 75 feet north of Commerce Street and then heading about 1,420 feet north. 

Mission Construction, out of St. Paul, Kansas, put forth the winning bid of just over $1.3 million. The company previously worked on the 11th Street improvement project in Coffeyville, which took over 400 days to complete despite being originally scheduled for just 105 days.
