Joplin Man Sentenced In Store Robbery

 

A Joplin man was sentenced to nearly 6 years in prison after he robbed a convenience store in December of last year.

 

57-year-old Sheldon Jack Herrelson was originally charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated battery for robbing the Old Riverton Store on December 19th.

 

According to officials, Herrelson robbed the store at gunpoint with a shotgun, demanded cash and bound the employee's hands and feet and fled the scene. Herrelson was sentenced to 71 months in prison.
