Kansas Congressman Steve Watkins announces that he has stepped aside from his committee assignments. Watkins says throughout his entire career, he has put service above himself, and this instance is no different. That’s why he's chosen to temporarily and voluntarily step aside from his committees and fight these charges. Watkins serves on Foreign Affairs, Veterans Affairs and Education and Labor committees.

His opponent Jake LaTurner's Spokesperson Kara Zeyer released a statement saying Watkins was forced to resign from these committees.
