Authorities are investigating a suspicious death in Caney.   Caney Police were dispatched Wednesday to 204 S. Fawn Street tom respond to an unresponsive person.  Upon arrival officers spotted a body lying on the floor, made entry and confirmed the person as unresponsive.  The Montgomery County Coroner was called to the scene and confirmed the person as deceased.  According to the Caney PD, due to suspicious circumstances discovered at the scene the Kansas Bureau of Investigation was contacted.  The body has been sent for autopsy and the scene secured.

The name of the deceased will not be disclosed until family members are notified. There is no immediate threat to the community at this time.
