The Montgomery County Commission has renewed the county's COVID-19 disaster declaration for another 60 days. The declaration was originally passed back in March at the outset of the outbreak. Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson said the declaration must be renewed every so often.
Whitson said at the time of his last update there have 65 total cases in Montgomery County, with 24 currently active. The decision to renew the declaration passed 3-0, with no commissioner dissenting.
