Citizens of Chautauqua County are strongly encouraged to wear masks in compliance with Governor Laura Kelly's executive order last week. However, the county has also announced that it will not enforce the order, leaving it as just a suggestion.

Chautauqua County Medical Director Dr. James McDermott and the Chautauqua County Health Department have both suggested and encouraged the continued use of masks and social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19. 

Citizens furthermore are still encouraged to restrict all non-essential travel, practice good hygeine and only interact with those in their immediate family.
