The Independence Police Department had received information that someone operating a black Dodge Charger with tinted windows and a light-bar on top was attempting to pull cars over in the city.  According to Police Chief Jerry Harrison they have identified the driver of the Dodge Charger and now believe he was falsely reported as impersonating an officer.  Harrison says he appreciates all of the information provided by the public and that they are now investigating this as a filing a false report case. 

The reported incident occurred over the holiday weekend south of Independence on US 75 according to information from the Kansas Highway Patrol.  IPD has shared the information with area law enforcement.
