Many people in attendance at the Labette County Commission meeting with discussion of the governor's order requiring face masks on the agenda. Labette Health's CEO Brian Williams, County Health Director Lisa Stivers and members of the hospital board spoke in support of masks, but Commissioner Doug Allen says his concern is with enforcing it.

Despite the recommendation of health officials to support the governor's order on masks Commission Chairman Lonnie Addis made a motion to opt out of the order.  The motion was seconded by Commissioner Fred Vail and passed on a two to one vote as Commissioner Allen voted to not opt out. Masks will not be required in Labette County.
