A house in rural Montgomery County is total loss after it caught fire early this morning.

At approximately 2:05 this morning, Independence Fire/EMS responded to 5616 CR 3950 to assist Sycamore Rural Fire with a structure fire. Upon arrival, the front half of the house was totally involved with fire. Additional assistance was called in from Independence Rural, Cherryvale Rural, Dearing Rural, Elk City, Liberty Rural and Wilson County Rural. Independence Fire/EMS, Sycamore and Dearing departments remained on scene until approximately 6:30 extinguishing hot spots.

The house is a total loss and the cause is under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
