The Montgomery County Commission approved the Emergency Declaration for the SKO Railroad trestle that was damaged in a fire. Emergency Management's Lee Miller says the area that was burned will have to be rebuilt it can't be repaired.

Miller says the economic impact with the railroad line’s closure could be significant as multiple regional industries use that line to transport goods as the line runs down to the Port of Catoosa. The trestle is located one-half mile east of the Independence city limits. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
