Pursuit Ends in Felons Arrest

A 41-year old Parsons man who led police on a short pursuit has been arrested and charged on a laundry list of charges.

Early Saturday morning, Parsons Police Sergeant Brice Dickens attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Buick and the driver fled and a pursuit ensued. Once stopped, the driver was arrested and identified as Tremayne Darkis. Darkis was wearing an ankle monitor during his arrest and he is on parole out of California.

During the pursuit a bag had been discarded that contained a stolen 9mm pistol that was stolen out of Parsons in 2019. The bag also contained multiple items including narcotics.

Darkis has been charged with 10 charges including Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Stolen Property, and multiple drug and traffic infractions related to the pursuit. A $10,000 bond was set by a Labette County Judge and Darkis has since bonded out.
