Columbus-based Optic Communications have announced that they will be ceasing cable service at the end of the year.

The company announced that they will be focusing on online operations. According to the Optic Communications, it was just getting too expensive to provide cable TV to a limited number of customers, and more and more people are switching to streaming services for entertainment.

Optic Communications said it will end its cable TV services on Dec. 31, 2020.
