Independence will serve as the host for the season opener for the Kansas Airstrip Attack next month.

The event was originally scheduled for two days starting April 18th, but was pushed back due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Instead, the event will start on July 18th and then run into the following day. The airstrip exhibition is a half-mile side-by-side roll race and trap speed exhibition featuring high-end exotic cars such as those made by Porsche and Lamborghini. 

When purchasing tickets, citizens of Independence that use city servcies can use a promo code found on their utility bill for 25% off tickets to the event. Indy Chamber of Commerce Director Lisa Wilson said this code will be worth a lot of savings.
