The residents of Parsons will have a new activity to partake in as Tolen Creek Park will receive a new 18-hole disc golf course.

The city of Parsons received a $7,000 tourism grant from The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism to add the disc golf course. The grant will also connect two legs of the trail in the park.

Parsons had planned to add WiFi to the park but were only awarded half of the amount of money the city had applied for. The city said that adding WiFi at the park will have to wait as the city focuses on the disc golf course and trail.
