Demand Growth Raises National Average

 

Since Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has increased by five cents to $2.09, which is nine cents higher than a week ago, 24 cents more than a month ago and 65 cents less than a year ago, according to AAA.

 

In Kansas, prices have climbed up to $1.87 which is up 14 cents since last week and is nearly 35 cents higher than last month. Montgomery County is currently higher than the state average by 2 cents, while Labette County came in slightly under than the state average at $1.86 a gallon. Chautauqua County clocked in at $1.81 a gallon.

 

Across the border in Oklahoma, the state average is $1.81. Washington and Nowata counties came in slightly under the state average at $1.78 and $1.76 a gallon, respectively.
