Caney Man Arrested on Multiple Criminal Damage Counts

A 21-year-old Caney man has been arrested on multiple charges after spray painting several properties around Caney.

The Caney Police Department received a report of criminal damage to property discovered at the Caney Volunteer Fire Department building on Monday night. Shortly thereafter, another report was received from Sonic Drive-in stating that the words “crips” and “bloods” were spray-painted on their property as well. Officers with the Caney Police Department patrolled through town in attempt to locate more damaged or defaced property. In total, 5 properties, 5 signs and 1 headstone at the Sunnyside Cemetery were vandalized.

After conducting interviews, CPD identified the suspect to be Logan Matthew Jennings. Jennings stated that he committed the acts alone and went on to state that he does not have any affiliations with the Crips, Bloods, or Antifa.

Criminal damage to property charges are being submitted to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution against Jennings.
