Montgomery County Commission Meeting for 6-8

The Montgomery County Commission gathered for its regularly scheduled weekly meeting today (Monday).

Emergency Manager Rick Whitson provided the commission with a quote to fix the judicial center's generator, which wouldn't start due to leaks. Estimates for the repairs came out to be just over $3,300. Commissioner Robert Bever said if there was an opportunity to save money, they should take it.

The commission then went into executive session alongside the Montgomery County Action Council's Trisha Purdon, who shared financial and trade secrets for economic development.

The Public Works department is looking for bids on a new truck, rather than looking for bids on a used truck as previously discussed. Commissioner Larry McManus said he wasn't a fan of the increased cost, but he likes the potential long-term benefit of the purchase. The department will also be offering J&J Drainage a bid for the purchase of pipes for further work.

Matt Debo with the Environmental Health/Zoning Department stopped by to inform the commission that the department had approved its comprehension plan for another year, pending the gathering of additional documentation.

The commission will meet once again next week at 9:00am at the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence.
