Labette County health officials have confirmed the first positive Coronavirus case in the county. The patient has only been identified as a 61 year old man who is recovering at this time. The Labette County Health Department is working to identify and contact who may have come in contact with the individual and they will monitor them for symptoms. Health Department Administrator Lisa Stivers says social distancing and staying home are extremely important in slowing the spread of COVID-19.

The Labette County Commissioners meet this afternoon at 1:00pm and Emergency Management Director Charlie Morse says he will recommend that they make a disaster declaration.
