President Donald Trump signed into law the CARES Act and with the comes some financial assistance to people during this crisis. Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt says this has opened up a new opportunity for scammers.

Schmidt says the checks will take about three weeks to be sent out.  If you’ve been contacted by a scammer impersonating the federal government asking for information relating to the stimulus payment or any other COVID-19 scam, file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division online at ag.ks.gov.
