3D Masks To Be Produced Locally

A joint project between John Deere Coffeyville Works, the ICC Fab Lab and Coffeyville Regional Medical Center is looking to help with the shortage of N95 masks that the hospital needs in abundant supply for COVID-19. The collaboration is about 3D printing reusable masks as substitutes for the N95 masks. The Director of the ICC Fab Lab Jim Correll explains how he first found out about printing 3D reusable masks.

A sample of the masks have been delivered to CRMC where they will be tested. Correll went on to say that if this is successful he would like to incorporate customization into the masks.

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center CEO Brian Lawrence also joined us on the phone and said he is amazed at community groups such as the Fab Lab helping the medical community at a time when it is really needed.

Correll closed out by wanting to thank John Deere for helping them undertake this new innovation.
