Georgia Business Banned from Kansas

A Georgia machinery supplier has been permanently banned from doing business in Kansas and ordered to refund nearly $13,000 to a Kansas consumer after being found in violation of Kansas consumer protection laws. Attorney General Derek Schmidt says Marvin Wood, of Dahlonega, Georgia, who did business as MWA Machine. Wood was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $12,780 to a Kansas consumer, as well as pay a civil penalty and reimburse the attorney general’s office for the cost of its investigation.

Wood failed to respond to a lawsuit filed by the attorney general’s office in December 2019. Schmidt has accused Wood of accepting payment from a Kansas consumer for machinery but failing to deliver the product or a refund to the consumer when it was not delivered.
