USD 445 Releases Update on Coronavirus Concerns

USD 445 Coffeyville Public Schools has released an update on health concerns regarding the Coronavirus. The school district has been working closely with the Kansas Department of Health and the district's health clinics to appropriately prepare for any possibility.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the KDHE have both provided updates claiming the United States is still at low risk for a coronavirus outbreak. Travel warning areas include China, Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea. Currently, there are no confirmed cases in Kansas, but one person has tested negative and there is one person of interest whose testing is still pending.

Currently, the best way to protect yourself from all respiratory germs is to avoid close contact with those who are sick and washing your hands every time you eat or go to the bathroom. The school district and appropriate agencies will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
