Former Labette County Man Dies On First Day in Prison

A man who was convicted of killing his roommate with a machete died on the same day he was admitted to prison.

60-year old Timothy Russell Moses died Tuesday at the El Dorado Correctional Facility. He had been admitted to the prison earlier in the day, according to officials with the corrections department. He was sentenced earlier this month to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder in Labette County. The death is being investigated.

Moses was convicted of killing 59-year old Donald Trammell by hitting him with a machete about 20 times at a Parsons home in 2017.
