A Coffeyville couple was arrested on several counts revolving around the sexual abuse of an 8 year old girl. According to their Facebooks both Kendall Burnett and Ashley Burnett are from Coffeyville. Kendall Burnett is facing possible charges of child sexual abuse, manufacturing, possessing and distributing child pornography as well as other charges. Ashley Burnett is facing similar counts in addition to enabling child sexual abuse.

 

Online conversation between the two showed their plan to involve the victim in sexual activities. Photos of the victim without clothes on were also exchanged in the conversation thread. The messages said the couple would take the victim’s cell phone away if she discussed what was going on. All of these incidents allegedly occurred at the Skyline Motel on Washington Boulevard. Evidence of cocaine and marijuana was discovered inside of the room. Kendall Burnett’s bond was set at $200,000 in addition to a $50,000 motion to revoke warrant. Ashley Burnett’s bond was set at $150,000.

 

The Washington County District’s Attorney Office is still gathering information on this case. Kendall and Ashley Burnett will remain in custody at the Washington County Detention Center.

 

A probable cause hearing was held on Monday. Both parties were informed on Tuesday in court that charges have not yet been prepared. Assistant district attorney Will Drake advised the court that Kendall Burnett could be facing up to nine felony charges and Ashley Burnett could be facing up to six felony charges.

 

A court affidavit alleges that couple engaged in sexual activity with the minor female victim in various capacities. The State of Oklahoma plans on bringing charges forward during arraignments on Wednesday at 1:15 p.m.
