At around 10:15 Tuesday morning the Cherryvale Police Department received a report that there was an unexploded device in the downtown area. As a precaution a two block radius was secured and residents and business were asked to evacuate the area for their safety. Cherryvale PD had the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Bomb Unit on scene to assist with this matter. At 2:10 the scene was cleared and the unexploded device was removed securely by the Bomb Unit.

Cherryvale PD would like to thank KHP and the Bomb Unit for their quick response and assistance. They would also like to thank the citizens and local businesses for their cooperation today.
