The Neodesha Fire/EMS Department have received a $5,000 grant today for extrication equipment.
The grant is provided through Frontier Farm Credit’s Working Here Fund. The grant will be used to purchase a new modern combination spreader/cutter. The new piece of equipment will replace the existing unit that is 21 years old. The new equipment will make it possible for rescuers to free crash victims more quickly, safely and effectively during emergency situations.
Two major highways intersect near Neodesha, so the new equipment will help to improve the rescue efforts and outcomes of vehicle crashes, especially high impact crashes that require modern, effective equipment. The grant is given to support projects focused on agricultural education, hunger and nutrition, young and beginning producers or essential services and rural disaster relief.
