Escaped Patient Captured

A patient who had escaped from the Parsons State Hospital yesterday was captured early this morning north of Parsons.

At 11:30 yesterday morning, Neosho County Deputies were notified of a manhunt for an escapee from the state hospital who had stabbed an employee, and was on foot in the area of U.S. 400 and Ness Road. The patient was identified as 58-year old Randy Snodgrass.

At approximately 1:30 this morning, Neosho County Sheriff's Office Patrol Sgt. Rian Lahey located and arrested Snodgrass on a Kansas Department of Corrections parole violation warrant. Snodgrass was taken into custody without incident on K47 Highway just east of Ness Road, about 15 miles north of the hospital.

Snodgrass is currently being held at the Neosho County Jail on the warrant with no bond.
