A new year with a similar focus in Labette County. Commission Chairman Lonie Addis says the focus remains on taxes.

Addis says they begin working on their budget around July and they always try to cut back as much as they can. Addis is the only one of the three commissioners not up for reelection. Commissioner Doug Allen and Commissioner Fred Vail haven't made an announcement regarding running for reelection.
