A Joplin man who was wanted on outstanding felony warrants was arrested early Wednesday afternoon.

48-year old Troy Hamilton was discovered inside of a Lowell home following an outside tip. Lowell was barricaded inside the home and claimed to be armed, while refusing to cooperate with authorities. Hamilton said he did not want to go back to prison, but Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputies were able to convince him to surrender and be taken into custody.

Hamilton was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he is being held without bond on two outstanding felony warrants. One for aggravated assault related charges, along with a misdemeanor arrest warrant for DUI and driving while suspended.
