Coffeyville City Commission Meets One Final Time in 2019

 

The Coffeyville City Commission met one final time in 2019 with plenty of recap and much to look forward to in 2020.

 

The meeting began with the consent agenda with approval of multiple Appropriation Ordinance's and also a resolution to authorize the execution of a quitclaim deed to the Coffeyville Historical Society (Audio).

 

On the regular agenda items, there was a special presentation from the City Commission to the Community Clean-up Litter Grant Program with a presentation of checks to Edge Ministry Center and FKHS Key Club (Audio).

Also on the regular agenda items was a public hearing for the 2019 Amended Budget but the public didn't participate. There was also a resolution to authorize the certification of the 2019 budget amendment for the Economic Development Fund and CID Sales Tax Fund of the City of Coffeyville, for the total expenditures of over $311,000 which was approved by the Commission. 

 

New Resolution's were approved across the board including a Resolution to authorize the execution of an extension to the Pole Attachment Agreement with Cox Communications with the extension lasting until December of 2020. Another Resolution approved was to authorize the issuance of a purchase order to Kansas Eastern Region Insurance Trust for workers compensation insurance coverage for the City of Coffeyville to be effective January 1st, 2020 through December 31st, 2020.

 

There was also discussion and action taken to approve the 2020 cereal malt beverage licenses (Audio).

 

City Manager Mark Hall gave his report that included information regarding the old amazon building which was purchased by Phoenix Investors and leased to Array Technologies (Audio).

 

One of the more detailed discussions of the meeting included the construction along 11th street. There have been citizens in Coffeyville who have voiced their frustration with the city about the delays with the construction.

 

Mayor Paul Bauer wants to remind everyone that this is a state project with the Kansas Department of Transportation, not a city run project (Audio).

 

After public comments involving bulky trash pick up there were a few words said by the Commissioners and the final meeting of 2019 was adjourned.
