Car Chase Ends in Arrest

 

The Kansas Highway Patrol was led on a car chase Monday afternoon through Montgomery and Labette Counties. At about 4 p.m, KHP troopers initiated a car chase with 2019 Silver Ford hatchback just east of Coffeyville. Crossing over into Labette County, the driver of the Ford was able to maneuver around two sets of spike strips around Altamont.

 

However, a third set of spikes were able to stop the driver just west of Oswego. Once the vehicle was stopped, two occupants were removed from the vehicle. Arrested was 21-year old James Allen of Kansas City, Missouri. He was arrested for attempting to elude, Possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a firearm. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 21-year old Jessica Myers of Coffeyville. She was later released.

 

Also involved in the chase were the Montgomery and Labette Sheriffs' Departments, as well as the Oswego and Altamont Police Departments.
