Oklahoma High School Students Named to Advisory Council

Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister today announced that 104 Oklahoma high school students, including students from northeast Oklahoma, have been named to her 2020 Student Advisory Council.

This is the fifth straight year that the group of students has convened to assist and provide insight to Hofmeister and the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Dominant themes voiced by last year’s Student Advisory Council were the importance of personal financial literacy, increased awareness of student mental health needs, and how trauma affects chronic absenteeism and student success.

Students from northeast Oklahoma include those from Bartlesville, Owasso and Oologah-Talala among others.
