24-year old Robert Scott Jackson, of Coffeyville, has died following a vehicle chase with police officers on Monday night.

 

The wreck occurred around 11:30 PM Monday on 4550 Road which is located about four miles north of Coffeyville.

 

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jackson was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 at a “high rate of speed” during the chase north of Coffeyville in Montgomery County.

 

Jackson lost control after 4550 road went from pavement to gravel and he entered the east ditch and struck multiple trees.

 

There is no indication what started the chase or why Jackson ran from pursuing officers. Jackson was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning.
