The median strip and both inside lanes along a half-mile stretch of U.S. 54 at the west city limits of La Harpe will be closed to traffic starting Monday, Dec. 9, weather permitting.

This will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction on this section of highway. The closure is necessary for repair work on the median and the highway is scheduled to be re-opened on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Westbound U.S. 54 traffic wanting to travel south on Monroe Street in La Harpe will need to continue west to the crossover at 2400th Street and turn back eastbound on U.S 54 to be able to turn south on Monroe.
