Last night at 5:07pm Independence Police were called to the 100 Block of W. Main for a report of an explosion. The caller reported the front windows of the building blew out and there was water running under a garage door. Independence Fire-EMS determined the explosion resulted from a malfunctioning air compressor.

There was one employee in a different part of the business when the explosion occurred and no injuries were reported. Police inspected the scene and believe the explosion was accidental.
