There will be a special presentation on Saturday night at 7:00 PM at Memorial Hall prior to the Oak Ridge Boys Down Home Christmas concert. The Auditorium at Memorial Hall is set to be recognized as the Jim Halsey Auditorium.
Jim Halsey has been in the music business for 70 years and has booked hundreds of acts at Independence Memorial Hall since 1949.
In addition to the recognition of Halsey, Attorney General Derek Schmidt will be in attendance to recognize the Oak Ridge Boys. They have teamed up with AARP and the Justice Department to launch a public service announcement to raise awareness about fraud targeting older Americans.
Right after the special presentations, the Down Home Christmas concert featuring the Oak Ridge Boys will begin at 7:30 PM.
The box office at Memorial Hall is located at 410 N. Penn Ave in Independence and it will be open Friday 10:00 to 4:00 PM on Friday and then Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and then from 6:00 PM to showtime.
