A motion to rename Memorial Hall Auditorium in Independence to Jim Halsey Auditorium will brought to the table during a special commission meeting on Wednesday morning. After much discussion about the name change, Commissioner Gary Hogsett made a motion for the name change.

Jim Halsey is an Independence native who has helped guide the careers of the Oak Ridge Boys, Waylon Jennings, and Reba McIntyre.
