Congressman Ron Estes announced Wednesday a $14 million grant to the City of Wichita for improvements to transportation services through a facility.

The facility will contain transit amenities to handle connections from commuter service and connect to downtown and transfer points to routes meeting education, employment and economic development. It will also serve as a quick charge area for the electric bus fleet, house Wichita's bike share program and included nearly 600 parking spaces.

Senators Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran acknowledged the impact it will have on more than 15,000 people in downtown in both east and west Wichita.
